Entry for Poster Stellars
These two posters were created as an entry for Poster Stellars, the 6th Intercontinental Poster Competition. The work centers on a simple but unsettling idea: that Earth, and everything on it, is negligible against the scale of the universe. The first poster places a single point of light at the horizon of a dark planetary surface, a lone star in an indifferent sky, framed by three words descending the composition: Insignificant, Replaceable, Gone. The second strips the scene further, reducing Earth to a small dark circle swallowed by a faint glow in an otherwise empty field of space. Together the posters trace a quiet sequence from presence to erasure. The argument underneath is not purely philosophical. It is directed at human ego, at the contradiction of a species so minor in cosmic terms causing damage so significant to the only world it has. The vastness of the universe is not presented here as wonder. It is presented as perspective.
