Nhugu Newa Graphics — Nijal Munankarmi

Alongside the typeface development, a series of poster designs put Nhugu Newa into practice, testing the font as a living typographic system rather than a technical specimen. Set against bold color fields, the posters use sentences and quotes written entirely in Ranjana Lipi to demonstrate how the geometric letterforms hold up at scale, in composition, and in color. A separate piece displays the full alphabet as a poster — each character given space to exist on its own terms, collectively showing the visual coherence of the system. Together, these works sit at the intersection of type design and graphic practice: they are not documentation of the font but an argument for it, showing what Ranjana Lipi looks like when it is treated not as a relic but as a contemporary design tool.
